And here was my answer (from personal my experience):
If you asked successful entrepreneurs and CEOs (like I did) to name the one skill they contribute the most to their success.
They would tell you sales.
Selling is the most important skill that you could learn to help you be successful in the future.
When I started my business, I thought if I just build a website, customers will come.
I kept working hard on the best logo, the best website, made sure I have the best tools, for more than two years.
I thought I was making progress, but reality hit me hard, like this poor guy
If I don’t learn how to sell, I won’t get any customer.
Since I started learning and selling, I started getting customers, and I’m able to grow my business.
I wish I knew this ten years ago.
If you want to find a job or get promoted you need to learn how to sell yourself, if you want to start a business you need to sell your product/service, if you want to start a non-profit organization you need to sell your cause.
For example: If you are an excellent programmer, and you don’t know how to sell, it’s going to be hard for you to start a business, or even get a high paying job.
The most important thing for any business is SALES if any business doesn’t have sales they’ll be out of business in no time.
